GARDEN – Green Thumbs’ Up

Do you have a GREEN THUMB? Munchimonster has two! They’re furry! You can have a ‘green thumb’ by starting a garden by yourself, with family,  friends, or at school!

GREEN THUMBS UP! CLUB

A-Any size garden is OK!

B-Grow spinach, peas, kale, & broccoli ! (& whatever else you like!)

C-Do NOT use chemical pesticides.

HOW TO GARDEN:

  1. Use heirloom NON-GMO seeds
  2. Use a ceramic pot or planter box & organic SOIL. Or dig in the ground in your backyard!
  3. Plant what is IN SEASON. Research what is in season for the area you live.
  4. Sow ( plant) your seeds in rows. Seed pack directions tell you how DEEP to plant seeds, WHEN to plant, and how OFTEN to water. You may even start seeds INDOORS in egg cartons! Munchimonster doe that in his treehouse before planting outdoors
  5. Remember to WATER. Watering in the evening is best.
  6. Remove WEEDS and be sure to get their roots.
  7. Be on the lookout for holes in your vegetable leaves- that means there are bugs eating your plant, or snails! remove them.
  8. WAIT a few months. When the fruit is large, HARVEST your produce!
  9. AWARD YOURSELF A CARROCKET STICKER FOR EACH WEEK YOU GARDEN. (Use the goals calendar in the Munchi-Manual to affix stickers)

MAKE A HARVEST WAGON! OR A PORTABLE GARDEN!
